WEDNESDAY~DISCOVERY
For discovery today, we read the book Diary of a Worm and we got to look at real worms!  We watched how they move and how they have little hairs over their body, and how they will regrow another tail if they lose it!  We then took our worms and placed them in the garden so that they could eat all the dead leaves and help our garden grow!

Week of 4/21 - 4/25

Monday ~ Discovery
For Discovery today, we read The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein and then we went outside and used our senses and we asked some questions about our surroundings... Like; what do you see, what do you think and what do you wonder!

Tuesday ~ Swimming

Wednesday ~ Drama

Thursday ~ Cooking
To begin our "cooking" activity, we learned some facts about caterpillars and watched videos of caterpillars hatching from eggs.  Children learned that a caterpillar's body usually has 12 segments/sections.  Often, there is a pattern on a caterpillar's body.
For snack, children created their own caterpillar fruit kabobs.  Strawberries were used for the head and then 12 grapes and/or banana slices were put into a pattern to represent the caterpillar's body.  This was a yummy, healthy treat!

Friday ~ Technology
Pre-K "A" visited the computer lab and did activities on KIDPIX and abcya.com.
Pre-K "B" children were going to work on iPads but after the fire drill, everyone was so wet that by the time we dried off and got ready to play on the iPads, it was time to pack up to go home.
