WEEK OF 1/13-1/17

MONDAY~NO EDP--EARLY RELEASE DAY

TUESDAY~COOKING
Today we made sweet snowflake tortillas!  After folding a tortilla in half two times, children cut their tortilla to make a snowflake.  When they were finished cutting, children opened up the tortilla and "painted" it with melted butter.  Next, they sprinkled powdered sugar and/or cinnamon and sugar over the tortilla.  After briefly heating them in the oven, the children ate their snowflake creation!  We also read the story, Names For Snow.

WEDNESDAY~TECHNOLOGY
Pre-K "A" did phonemic awareness activities (rhyming and syllables) on the SMARTboard.
Pre-K "B" worked in the Computer Lab and we worked on RazKids.

THURSDAY~ART

FRIDAY~MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.  ALL-SCHOOL ASSEMBLY~ Pre-K had fun watching many different performers during the King & Mandela assembly!  We saw a ventriloquist, Tapestry Performing Arts Company dance, some fun songs, and the New Salem Baptist Church Camerata along with some CA friends sing "Souled Out".  Make sure to ask me about it!
