TUESDAY~COOKING~ We read a book about Fall and apples and made individual apple pies.
We used crescent rolls, we cut up our own apples and we added sugar and cinnamon! They were delicious!
WEDNESDAY~TECHNOLOGY~ Pre-K B worked on the iPads today! We worked with a program called 'Letter School' where we practiced our letter formation. We also worked on a game called 'Firefly Hero' which is a problem solving game! Make sure to ask me about both!
Pre-K "A" visited the computer lab and worked with KidPix.
THURSDAY~ART
FRIDAY~DISCOVERY
Our Discovery Experiment began with a story about bubbles. We then discussed what an experiment was. Next, the children were shown the experiment they were going to do. Each small group of children was given a tall, clear, plastic cup filled half-way with water and a Tbsp. of baking soda mixed in. Each child was to count and add 3 raisins to the cup. Next, the children used droppers to add vinegar to the cup. After the vinegar was added, the children were amazed at what they saw the raisins doing. After some time observing the raisins, we discussed why the raisins were moving up and down in the solution. There were bubbles (formed by the mixture of baking soda, water, and vinegar) that would support the raisin and move it to the top of the liquid. When the bubble popped, the raisin would move back down to the bottom of the cup until another bubble would get underneath of it. The children enjoyed watching these "jumping" raisins!
