MONDAY~TECHNOLOGY

Pre-K "A" worked with the SMARTBoard today and did an activity to review beginning letter sounds.

Pre-K B visited the computer lab and worked on KidPix!

This week's Discovery activity involved learning about how and why leaves change colors in the Fall.  After learning information from a book, we did an experiment to reveal other colors hidden in leaves.

Today in Drama we continued our exploration of creative movement using the statue garden game. We used our quick, creative thinking to create several "down on the farm" statue gardens! We also began an activity that will be ongoing called : "Crossing the Space." Today we crossed the space using different emotions to move us thru the room. We talked about how our tempo and body shape change as our feelings change. 

WEEK OF 10/15-10/18

TUESDAY~DISCOVERY

We started Discovery with a story called, "The Little Red House".  Your child brought home a copy of this story.  You will need an apple to help you tell the story.

 Next, we put slices of apples into 3 different containers.  We then added lemon juice to one cup; water to another cup; and left the 3rd cup alone.

 The children made predictions about what would happen to the apples in each of the cups if we left them alone for 2 days.  Stay tuned!  We will check our apples on Thursday!

On Thursday, we checked our apples and compared our predictions with what actually happenend.

Pre-K B explored all the liquids that we were going to soak our apples in!

Pre-K B made a prediction on what would happen to our apple slices!

Pre-K B tasted the 100% lemon juice to compare it to the  lemonade that we drink during snack!

FRIDAY~COOKING- To celebrate ~FALL~ we made pumpkin muffins!  We got to see the spices in their original form... we got to use our sense to feel, smell and even taste them!  Then we mixed all of our ingredients and anxiously awaited for the muffins to come out of the oven!  They were delicious!
