WEEK OF 2/11-2/15

MONDAY~DISCOVERY

Today's experiment involved testing different objects/materials with a flashlight to see if the light was blocked or passed through.  We learned the terms:  translucent, transparent, and opaque  (pronounced "ofake" by the Pre-K children).

TUESDAY~TECHNOLOGY

We did KIDPIX in the computer lab.

THURSDAY~COOKING

We make strawberry chocolate chip cookies for Valentine's Day!  Have you ever eaten a pink chocolate chip cookie?

FRIDAY~SWIMMING

 

 

Week of 2/4-2/8

Monday- Technology:  We played on the SMARTboard today!  We first discussed if the groundhog saw his shadow and then we played a rhyming game!

TUESDAY~Art

WEDNESDAY~Activities:  We broke up into two groups and played hang-man with our past 'passwords' and we also played a rhyming farm activity.

THURSDAY~Swimming:  We worked with life jackets today!

FRIDAY~Cooking: We made mini-apple pies out of crescent rolls and sliced apples!  We added brown sugar and  cinnamon-sugar and rolled up our apple pieces in the crescent!  They were delicious!!!

We made edible bird's nests using chow mein noodles, melted chocolate, and candy eggs.

We continued our learning from last week about how animals survive in Winter.  To help the birds this season, we made bagel bird feeders.  Children made 2 bird feeders--one to hang outside at school and one to take home to hang outside.

FRIDAY 2/1~ACTIVITIES

We played rhyming Bingo and played a sound review game.
