WEEK OF 12/10-12/14

Since we were studying the /Z/ sound, we made zucchini muffins!  Children learned what a zucchini looks like; how to grate it; and how it tastes.  Some children were a little apprehensive about trying the muffins.  With encouragement, most children tried the muffin--ended up eating the entire muffin--and asked us to send home the recipe!

TUESDAY~SWIMMING:  In this week's swimming class, we had "Beach Day", which means children were able to have free time swimming in the water and practicing the skills they have been learning.

WEDNESDAY~DISCOVERY:   As part of an extension to our 5 Senses discussions, London's mom came in to talk to us and teach us about coclear implants and hearing aids.  It was very interesting to hear about the ways that doctors can help children and adults hear better!  Modern Medicine is AMAZING!

THURSDAY~GAME DAY:  Children played the game Zingo today!  There are 2 versions of Zingo--a math version and a word/picture version.   This is a great game if you are looking for any gift ideas.

FRIDAY~COMPUTER LAB:  We got to spend some time on the computers exploring KidPix!
